This island has a lot of breathtaking natural scenery, great art, tradition, traditional ceremonies and those things are having great harmony with the modern culture. Talking about the breathtaking nature, there are many destinations in Bali that you can visit. One of them is Ubud.
Mostly people are starting their journey from Ngurah Rai Airport, the one and only international airport in Bali. This airport is located in Denpasar and the distance between Denpasar to Ubud is around 20km. If you had the same plan whether you want to start your journey from Denpasar to Ubud, below are some transportation advices that you can use.
1. Renting a Car
Most people said that it is the easiest way that you can have. The cost for this transportation method is Rp 250.000 for a car. Some hotels in Ubud are also providing this service, included the pickup service from airport – hotel – airport. If your hotel was having that facility, you can use it.
2. Renting a Motorcycle
The other option is by renting a motorcycle. Motorcycle can be rent with the price around Rp 45.00 per day. You can drive it by yourself to Ubud. However, make sure that you know the direction to go from Denpasar to Ubud. To do so, first you have to go to Bypass Ngurah Rai Street and drive your motorcycle to Sanur. Before Batubulan, turn right to Ida Bagus Mantre Street. After that, turn left and drive to the Guwang Art Market (Pasar Seni Guwang). From this place, you will find a traffic light; turn right until you reach the Mas Village. Then, drive to the Monke Forest Street. That journey from Ngurah Rai International Airport that is located in Badung to Ubud in Gianyar Regency needs for about two hours travel time and it is based on the traffic condition.
3. Shuttle Bus
This is also an easy option to reach Ubud. There are many shuttle bus operators that you can choose. However, you have to know the shuttle bus schedule in which usually it is ready at 6 am, 10 am, 13.30 and 16.30. Later, this shuttle bus will stop at Jalan Hanoman (Hanoman Street), Ubud. The ticket price is Rp 50.000/person. However, if you also bought the return ticket, you just need to pay Rp 80.000 for departure and return journey.
4. Public Transportation
Do you want to experience the public transportation from Denpasar to Ubud? If you want to experience it you can use the Trans Sarbagita bus. Corridor II of this bus serves the Nusa Dua route (BTDC) – Batubulan. Nusa Dua is located at the south Bali, meanwhile Batubulan is located at Gianyar. One of the Corridor II stop at this Nusa Dua-Batubulan route is Kuta Central Park. From Batubulan, you just need to have the Bemo ride to Ubud.
From Ngurah Rai International Airport you can go to Kuta Central Park. From this airport, you can have the taxi ride with 10 minutes travel time and it is according to the traffic condition. The other option is by using the Trans Sarbagita route of Tegal-Airport via Kuta Central Park. However, make sure that the airport employee knows about this route. After that, continue your journey by using Trans Sarbagita with Batubulan Route. The ticket price is just Rp 3.500 per person. From Batubulan terminal, you can take the bemo ride with price around Rp 5.000 per bus. For your information this bus is departed every 15 minutes.
